Pizza by Hygge Cafe

Pizza by Hygge Cafe has such a homely ambiance, you won't feel that you're along the busy bus terminal. Very well ventilated and lighted, the smell of cheese cooking all over the place, just heavenly!

I and my son found our new favorite pizza! Their concept is create-your-own-pizza which is a big advantage for me coz I prefer it to be just olives and cheese, which is not usually available on the menu unless paying for extra toppings.

The dough, base sauce, and cheeses are so good, which mainly are the essential factors for making a great pizza. I can go on and on about how heavenly it is. You also get to choose the herbs.

I believe how good it will taste is dependent on your mix and match. I highly recommend you to try their menu (aside from the pizza).

I usually ask the staff what are the hours that the place is jam packed (coz this will be when I won't drop by) , so during our visits we got the place to ourselves, These were two consecutive days coz I really can't get over of my taste buds going crazy!!!

The Food

Pizza (Php 250)

12" thin crust dough and a choice of your toppings. Good for 2-3 persons.

Don't underestimate the thin crust, it's filling! Lucky us since they just opened, they're having a promo --- only Php 200 til the end of the month! Here are the ingredients available, in case you wanna plan ahead of what to top your pizza:

red sauce, white sauce, mozzarella cheese, also available: cheddar cheese

pepperoni, ham, hungarian sausage, frankfurt sausage

onions, jalapeno, capers, bellpepper

*I must've missed the pineapples, olives, arugula

Choices of herbs: basil, dried rosemary, thyme, oregano

Pizza Monsters Released!

Here's our creation. In roughly 15 minutes, pizza's served.

Note: They don't accept 2-faced pizzas anymore.

I always like it with thyme and oregano!

Pizza 1

Olives, mushrooms, mozzarella, cheddar, goat's cheese, and arugula.

Pizza 2

Mushrooms, mozzarella, cheddar, and goat's cheese. Half has ham coz my kiddo likes it.

Pizza 3

Olives, mozzarella, cheddar, goat's cheese, half has ham and pepperoni. I had some jalapeno on the side for a kick.

Pizza 4

Here's my mom's and sister's creation. Half: Olives, bell pepper, anchovies, chicken, cheddar, mozzarella, goat's cheese. Other half: olives, pepperoni, ham, mozzarella, cheddar, goat's cheese.

Carbonara (Php 130)

Surprisingly, you won't have that "suya" coz of the creaminess of usual carbonaras. Good job on this!

Tuna Pasta (Php 130)

Tuna, tomatoes, and basil. I had an initial thought that "I know how it tastes like" but I was wrong. Yummy!!!

Cucumber Mint Cooler (Php 100 for a liter)

REFRESHING! The only word that describes it.

Hawker at Trancoville

Hawker at Trancoville serves Singaporean -  Malaysian and Mexican - Italian dishes at really affordable prices, ideal for students too. The food quality and quantity, plus the homely ambiance, makes it all worth it to take that extra travel (from town) to load your tummy and excite your taste buds. I'll surely be back for more.

I heard that they're going to have a bit of an increase on their prices. Rates on the pictures are based on our visit last February 2016.

The Food

Cheese Quesadilla (Php 100)

Oozing cheese in folded soft tortilla, served with ranch dressing and salsa. Simply amazing! Highly recommended for cheese lovers!!!

Pistachio Pizza (Php 320)

Pesto, grated pistachio, sun-dried tomatoes, and mozzarella. Roughly 10 inches of home made dough, which makes it yummier. Its simplicity lets you enjoy all of the flavors and texture.

Chicken and Tofu Laksa (Php 100)

Noodles with fresh tofu, chicken, hard boiled egg, and sprouts; served in spicy curry coconut milk soup. I let them omit the chicken, so for this photo it's only Tofu Laksa . Perfect for the cold day.

Seafood Laksa (Php 100)

Noodles with prawns, clams, mussels, hard boiled egg, and sprouts; served in spicy curry coconut milk soup. These laksas are served in roughly 4 inches deep bowl.

Sambal Noodle (Php 70)

Stir fried noodles with sambal sauce, chicken, egg, and onion leeks. It may seem an ordinary dish but it's so good, especially with the kick of spice thanks to the sambal sauce.

Pork Sambal Rice (Php 70)

Roasted pork with sambal rice topped with egg and some cucumber on the side. Mix of the flavors makes your Php 70 all worth every cent.

Lime with Prune (Php 30)

Freshly squeezed lime with dehydrated prune. I just love how the saltiness neutralized the sourness. Genius!

Iced Kopi (Php 30)

And here are some snaps from friends:

(c) Ryane and (c) Patch

Chili Crab (Php 150)

Pork Sambal Rice (Php 70)

Beef Ribs (Php 250)

Served with a choice of salad, rice, or fries.

Spicy Carne Taco (Php 120)

Lucena, Quezon Food Trip Part 1/4: Cafe Jungle Coffee Adventure

It was my first night in Lucena, Quezon and my first dine out made me feel that the long hours of travel (technically due to traffic) was really worth it. My first stop: Cafe Jungle Coffee Adventure.

The Food

Mojos (Php 85)

This is way better than what Shakey's has (sorry for the name dropping). I can sit here all day eating these staring at the highway and feel contented!

Pizza Genova (Php 275)

Cheese, basil, olive oil; simply irresistable. How I wish I can have this kind of pizza here in Baguio for such a reasonable price. Thin crust and gooey cheese, you don't get that typical junk food taste, and yeah it gives a natural high.

Thai Lemon Iced Tea (Php 65)

More of the tea taste than the sugar. I simply love it.

Cookies and Cream Frappe (Php 95)

Didn't taste it but it looks so yummy and my buddies were surely happy with it.
